Izy is supporting weight on her legs! This has been a goal of ours for a long time and now it is finally happening. We aren't sure exactly what brought it on, but we have started chiropractic care, taken milk out of her diet (so she is finally sleeping), and tried a bit of a new kind of therapy called Anat Baniel Method.
Most of all we know that this is a huge blessing and we are So grateful the the Lord is blessing Izy to continue to make progress.

Winding up Summer
Quick Noahism-
From "Side By Side"
"Oh, We ain't got a barrel of . . .honey. Maybe we're ragged and. . . Hungry"
Well I guess we know where his mind is. It makes sense in a weird sort of way. He Loves, Loves, Loves honey and will drink it out of the container if I let him.
My mom sent us a homemade cup holder with green acrylic cups with everyones name on them. She used an old circular microwaveable plastic muffin tin to put the cups in, and Viola! much less dirty cups since we can just rinse and reuse knowing that we are only getting our own germs. Evelyn has Noah convinced that the water tastes better out of these green cups. She told him that it turns into lemon lime flavor. (:
We have been doing a lot of science this past week and will do more this next because I bought a subscription to an online Science camp for the summer and we were so busy we didn't do as much as I had thought we would. One of the activities that was a great hit was a magic trick that Alayna spent a long time perfecting. She learned that if you stack a cup, a smooth book, a toilet paper tube and a ball -then smack the book out, hard but straight, the toilet paper tube has less inertia and will go with it, but the ball and cup have more and will stay where they are resulting in the ball falling into the cup. She got so good at it, that after 10 times of success in a row I let her do it for the camcorder with an egg and water in the cup. It worked perfectly. If anyone wants to see it I'll post it on here.
On a scarier note, poor Alayna witnessed her sister, Izy, have a Seizure a week and a half ago. It was a tonic clonic seizure and the Lord has blessed us not to have any more. We are of course following up with the doctors. We will be fasting and praying that she will be healed and not experience anymore of them this next fast Sunday, the first Sunday in September. Anyone who would like to join us is welcome.
Otherwise she is doing great and is definitely making progress. She is able to stay all by herself in a tall standing position and is going for longer and longer times sitting and in a hands and knees position.
We feel very blessed and are grateful to have such wonderful friends and family!

Amphibians
Noah- "Frog What time is it? My clock is broken. Ten O'clock. Ten O'clock is my sad day. I never get any mail. Why do you always ask!"
Joseph- singing "Toad looks funny in a bathing suit. You know where a rutabaga comes from don't yah? From a rutabaga root! Two thing you can not dispute rutabaga comes from a rutabaga root and Toad looks funny in a bathing suit"
Evelyn- singing "Merry almost Christmas, Happy that your here...(asking me) Mom, how many more days till Christmas?"
Mom-sighing "Just a few less then last time you asked"
Alayna- singing "We flew south for the winter, south for the winter, every spring we pack our things and go"
Do we live in a musical? Well, actually since you asked, Yes yes we do. Right now and for about the last month we have eat and breathed "A Year with Frog and Toad" the kids version.
You see, last spring my friend told me about a free program for grades 3-6. They go to a camp from 10-4 every weekday for three weeks. They learn about lights, sound, theatre history, sets, make their own props and costumes, play games, practice singing and supporting. All sorts of fun things. The only problem was that they are about 1/2 hour drive. That translates into 2 hours in the car for mom and younger kids everyday. 1 hour round trip to drop them off and 1 hour round trip to pick them up. So I decided that we would sign up and then only stay in it if we could find someone to carpool. We found someone and life was good. Then the first day of classes she told me something had come up. One of their friends that had signed up with them with the understanding that she could ride with them had actually made it in even though she thought she hadn't and there was no longer room in the car. At this point if I pulled out, no one else would be able to take our spot, so we toughed it out for three weeks.
The kids loved it. All of them. Noah knows most of the lines and songs by heart. As does Evey and of course Alayna and Joseph know the exact versions. (: Joseph got the part of Toad which is the comic relief. He did great. He was very funny (quite a ham actually) and remembered all of his lines. Alayna got the part of a Bird, which was exactly what she wanted. She did great too. She was full of life and expression and confidence. She looked straight out at the audience and sang loud. She had a couple of short solos and you could hear her great.
The younger kids hummed along from their seats and insisted on reenacting it at home. Noah wanted to play Toad and Evelyn was a Bird. (:
So it was time and money (think gas and tickets to all three performances for mom and dad) well spent IMHO. And we get reprises for who knows how long??
